Description
The Bridge Single Malt Irish Whiskey- Sheares St
Bottled exclusively for Cork Whiskey Society
We’re honoured that our first exclusive bottling is to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the first meeting to form a Cork Whiskey Society. Your members are among the most passionate advocates and promoters of Irish Whiskey and contribute greatly to the Irish Whiskey Renaissance.
The location for that first meeting was the historic Woodford Bourne bonded warehouse building on Sheares St, a key part of Cork’s rich history of drinks producers, bottlers and traders. At one point this warehouse contained over a million bottles of wine, sherries and ports and more than 50,000 gallons of choice Cork and Dublin whiskies, Scotch whiskies and fine French brandies being stored from seven to 10 years in wet and dry cellars.
The Whiskey:
This Single Malt, distilled in Bushmills in 2014, spent 1748 days (4 years, 9 and a bit months) in first fill bourbon cask from Buffalo Trace, then 392 days (a little over a year) in a 125L remade solera Oloroso cask, then 964 days (2 years 7.5 months) in second fill Buffalo Trace cask. In total just around the 8.5 year old mark.
It’s limited to 107 bottles and is bottled at cask strength of 59.47% ABV, this is a fine example of great Irish Single Malt. The flavours from the Bushmills Malt, Sherry and Bourbon Casks are all well balanced.
We hope that each and every bottle of this is opened and drunk in the company of friends!
Congratulations on your first 10 years and Sláinte from all Lough Ree Distillery.
